Vincent Mokholo, Chief Executive officer alias "Masta Chief".Vincent has worked in the telecommunications industry for the last 15 years. After graduating in 1995, he joined GSM Cellular where he applied himself across the different business disciplines within the company, developing his professional skills and finishing his tenure as the Corporate Account Manager. Vincent joined TelePassport in 1999 to focus on business growth. Vincent was instrumental in developing TelePassport into a successful and growing business: at the helm of a consortium he played a major role in tailoring a BBBEE transaction for TelePassport, which culminated in Mojaho Trading (Pty) Ltd acquiring 30% of the company.
He assumed the role of Client Services Director when TelePassport merged with CentraCell (Pty) Ltd to form Huge Telecom, and was responsible for bedding down the operations and service deliverables of the combined entity. Vincent was appointed to the position of Product and Business Development Director in January 2009, and has rejuvenated the Group's product portfolio, which continues to bring new products on stream.
Huge Telecom acquired a controlling shareholding in Ambient Mobile in January 2011, which has resulted in Vincent's appointment to Head Ambient. Mokholo was instrumental in the acquisition of Ambient Mobile having identified the potential growth of mobile messaging not only in South Africa but importantly the rest of the African continent.
He attended primary school in the Blouberg region of the Limpopo province, and matriculated in the North West at Tsogo High School at Mmakau (near Ga-Rankuwa). In 1993, he attended an educational fellowship administered by the EOC (Educational Opportunities Council) in Cairo, Egypt. In 1995, Mr. Mokholo completed a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Limpopo . He completed a course in Telecoms mini MBA with Informa Telecom Academy based in the United Kingdom.
He serves as an Executive Director of Huge Group Ltd.
Greg Shiers, Managing Director alias "Chief Fulfiller of Needs"Greg's education and career to date has intertwined with his business partner and co director Jarratt Ingram. Matriculating from the same school in South Africa but taking separate career and tertiary education paths they were destined to converge again in the United Kingdom prior to their return to South Africa.
Greg completed his diploma in Graphic Design through the internationally Recognised Design Centre in 1999, and this is where he found his passion for the web and mobile applications profession.
Greg left South African shores to gain work experience and life skills in the United Kingdom building his design and development experience with established employers and then branching out into consultancy and self employment.
When Greg and Jarratt's paths converged once again in the UK, the future business strategy and vision for Si Works was forged.
Upon Greg's return to South Africa and formation of SI Works, it became very apparent on a number of projects, there was a need for mobile messaging integration into various business application platforms. Partnering with a number of Wireless Applications Service Providers around South Africa, was unsatisfactory as none of them fully met our needs, this is how Ambient Mobile was born.
Ambient Mobile was planned, and developed to meet the exact and individual needs of clients. Greg has been involved in all technical and operational aspects of the company since its birth in 2008.
He assumed the role of Managing Director from the outset of the company, and has been working closely with Vincent Mokholo on building the business to meet client and market needs within Africa.
Jarratt Ingram Technical Director alias "Chief Geek"Jarratt was appointed Technical Director in 2008
Jarratt matriculated from Fourways High School in South Africa in 1996 and furthered his studies in hotel business management. After successfully completing his studies he expanded his life experience and social responsibilities as a youth counsellor in the United States. Returning to South Africa in 2000, Jarratt was drawn into the mobile telecommunications industry and received a thorough grounding in client solution provisioning and service delivery.
Spreading his wings, driven by a singular ambition to follow his vision of starting up a web and mobile applications company and achieving lifestyle objectives, he once again left the South African shores to gain further work experience in the United Kingdom.
In 2005 Jarratt co-founded an Internet web applications company with Greg Shires called SI Works and relocated back to South Africa. It is here that his skills in the mobile industry were nurtured and have flourished by building large scalable applications geared for the mobile market. It was very apparent that existing Wireless Application Service Providers are reluctant to customise their applications to fit specific client needs.
Built upon these solid foundations, Ambient Mobile was formed in partnership with Greg Shires in 2008. "Small messages, Big Impact" not only refers to the power of mobile messaging but to the embedded client centric culture of Ambient Mobile, where no challenge is to big or small and to create solutions that integrate into the client's needs, not simply one size fits all.
Jarratt is a certified Zend Engineer and functions in the role of Technical Director.
